Revenge is Best Served

Title: Revenge is Best Served
Characters: Blowfish, weevil
Words: 247
Rating: PG
Disclaimer: Nope, don't own Torchwood
Spoliers: Relates to events in Fragments
AN: This is written for [info]karaokegal  who wanted some Blowfish and weevil interaction. This may not be quite what you were after, but I hope it's okay!

The Blowfish stepped elegantly out of the rift, dragging two limp bodies behind him. Clear of the tear he dropped the two at his feet and straightened his suit.

He looked around him, taking in Victorian Cardiff, deciding on his next move. Mind made up, he grabbed each of the unconscious beings by the collar and dragged them along the street with him.

He took them down to a sewer. This would be the perfect environment for them. And he wanted them to be happy and thrive. More than anything, that’s what he wanted.

They were a breeding pair. As he propped their unconscious bodies against a wall deep in the sewers he regarded them. With their leathery skin, bristly hair, matching snarls and those awful clothes, he had no idea how they could tell, but they did. And he had done his homework. This pair would continue to mate, and their offspring would have their own children and they in turn would produce and before long Cardiff would have a serious predator problem.

The Blowfish pulled himself up and out of the manhole just as one of the creatures was starting to rouse.

He brushed himself down and looked around. He was sure he hadn’t been seen.

He had indeed done his homework. He knew who it was that had killed his son. He had found out that they existed to control alien threats.

Well, thanks to him, Torchwood would soon have something to really control.

Thank you. I was just thinking about the prompt and Jack's line about "we don't know how they got here" popped into my head. Glad you think it worked!

[identity profile] jooles34.livejournal.com 2010-08-09 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Yey!!! So pleased you like it! I was totally stumped to begin with then Jack's line about not knowing where the weevils came from popped into my head, and here we go.

Thanks for the challenge and the comment. I can never get enough of either!

Thanks too for the comm links. I'll shall def cross post later.

Now that's a really interesting idea!

This is just phenomenal!!!! I just finished watch that episode (I can't think of it's name, but it's the one where that Victorian Torchwood harpie kills the juvenile blowfish in front of Jack). This is just so spine-tingly a response!!! I love it, I absolutely do.

Now, answer me one wee question, yeah? Are the baby weevils born wearing those hideous boiler suits, and do they just grow along with the body so that they contnue to fit properly over time? Oops, that's two questions. My bad!!!!

Ah, the benefits of time travel.
Lovely little fic. ^_^

Neat! Weevils were deliberately released into Cardiff sewers, makes sense!

Thank you! Glad you liked it!

Wow! Thank you so much; and I'm so pleased you like it and think it fits. I was reminded of the comment Jack makes in the very first ep I think when he says that they don't know where the weevils come from...and this just followed.

And, it's so funny, but as I was writing it, I was thinking "where do those boiler suits come from?" I still don't have an answer, but love the idea they're born with them!

Thank you mate! Really pleased you like it.

Thank you! Glad you liked it. Just had a spark of a memory of Jack saying they didn't know where Weevils came from and...this happened!

that is fantastic

Only just found this! Great stuff, I love it and a very plausible explanation for where the weevils originated.
