Every time the detector goes off and every time he watches him run out of that door.

Every time the call comes through that there is an incursion. Every time he hears the shout for back up, hears a voice call “medic team now.”

Every single time his heart stops. Because every time Lester is terrified he won’t come home again.

Every time he starts to breath again only when he hears his voice chatter excitedly as he returns.

And every time he takes him home and loses himself in his body, chasing the fear away for one more day.
