A few of us have been proposing for ages having an alcohol fuelled live watch of a certain dodgilly costumed Sherlock Holmes.

I propose 9pm (UK time) tomorrow (Saturday) here on my LJ.

Okay, where to begin...

Are you sitting down? No food or drink in your mouh? Okay...

It is by a company called Asylum who make movies with the same/similar name as blockbusters.

GDL is Watson in a costume made for someone approximatly 5 foot shorter than him. Holmes is played by a guy with the voice of a girl. They are chasing - god help me - dinosaurs. I wish I was joking.

It is awful, but it you can drink enough while you watch it, it's quite entertaining.

It is entertaining, but seriously, I can only watch it drunk. Most people that try to watch it sober get as far as the same scene and have to stop. Even Gareth admits you need to watch it with alcohol.

I have an idea for a Primeval crossover with it I've been planing for ages.

For me it'll be the middle of the afternoon, and I will quite likely still be struggling through article critique writing, but it sounds like fun!

And you are welcome to use the Drinking Game Rules that Moe and I came up with last year at New York Comic Con.

GDL Sherlock Holmes Drinking Game Rules

1 drink for bad CGI
1 drink for whenever Gareth upstages Sherlock
1 drink whenever Sherlock is the shortest person in the room
1 drink when the bastardise a character we all know and love
1 shot for however many fingers can fit between Gareth's waistcoat bottom & trouser top
1 drink for every gratuitous ass shots of Gareth
1 drink for every costume flaw (like clip on bow tie)
1 drink for whenever Sherlock's caterpillar eyebrows do the acting for him
1 drink for whenever Sherlock plays Captain Obvious
2 shots if something actually makes sense

If by chance there's booze left, finish it, you earned it.

This movie is lolarious! I'm going to have to pass on this but I saw GDL at Chicago Comicon today! And Kai Owen. They both look in great shape. Here's what he said about Sherlock - it took 2 weeks to film and the results show.

I'll be putting up edits from the panel he and Kai did soon- I have just about the whole thing on video. Have fun - don't try to operate any heavy machinery tonight.
