He sat cross-legged on the ground. The wet grass soaked into his trousers, but he barely noticed. 

Now he was here he didn’t know what to do. He thought that there were things you were meant to do at times like these, but no one had ever told him what they were. 

He supposed maybe he should have brought flowers, but flowers didn’t feel right for him. 

In movies people always talked didn’t they?  He could do that; he could talk. He laid a hand on the smooth, cold stone and did what came naturally. 

“Hey Nick, it’s me, Connor.”
