It was the footprints that finally finished him off; the proverbial straw.

Weeks of pretending, avoiding, ignoring, all undone by a short wet trail leading from the bathroom to his new houseguest's bedroom; the puddled water meaning the shower must have been recent.

Lester’s mind raced with images and possibilities and he couldn't contain them anymore. He reached out a hand and pressed it against the too solid wood of the slightly ajar door; the only thing between him and a naked, wet Connor.

He opened it without knocking.

A towel slipped to the floor.

"Finally got the message then?"

AN:
I may have had a little bit of a drinkie last night, which may have made me decide that I had to write drunk Stephen. I may have also decided that [livejournal.com profile] lukadreaming had to give me a prompt. She humoured me with “last man standing”.

Stephen stood and studied the floor. He was fairly sure it was moving. He was also fairly sure that floors weren’t supposed to do that.

Two arms suddenly slipped around his waist and he felt himself being pulled back against a firm body. Warm lips kissed his neck and then moved up to his ear.

“It’s time we went home,” Ryan said.

“But the boys said they wanted to play a game,” Stephen protested. “We should stay and play with them.”

“They are playing a game. It’s called ‘last man standing’ and trust me sweetie, you are not going to win. We should go home.”

“But I don’t want to,” Stephen replied petulantly.

The lips moved back to his neck and he felt teeth nip against the soft flesh there. It seemed like a pretty convincing argument to him.

“Home it is!”
