“You little weasel!” yelled Owen across the Hub.

Tosh looked up from her monitor. “What’s wrong Owen?”

The doctor stormed up from his med bay, his face like thunder, and glanced around the Hub.

“Where is he? Where’s Ianto?”

“Said he had to go out on an urgent restock.”

“I’ll fucking urgent restock him!”

Tosh giggled. “What’s he done now?”

By way of an answer Owen threw his scalpel at her. Tosh squealed and scooted to the side as the knife hit the floor. She glared at him, ready to start shouting herself, when she registered that the piece hadn’t made the right sort of noise as it hit the ground. She stooped and picked it up, testing it with her fingers.

“It’s rubber.”

“I bloody well know. As is every other one of my instruments.”

Tosh giggled again. “He did warn you that he’d get you back.”

“Yeah well, if it’s war he wants, it’s war he’s gonna get.” And with that Owen stomped back down to his med bay. Tosh opened the drawer next to her desk which was full of gleaming surgical instruments. She grinned to herself. “I’ve got a pretty good idea who will win though."

The rift was quiet, so with Rhys at an away match overnight, the team followed Gwen back to her flat for a night of takeaway and drinking.

At some point - that none of them could really remember – someone - that they were still arguing over - had suggested playing spin the bottle.

Happily, there were a number of bottles to choose from.

It was all going swimmingly well except that every time Ianto spun, the bottle pointed at Owen. The Londoner changed seats with everyone around the table, but unerringly it was him that once again received Ianto’s attentions on every spin.

Once the alcohol and Owen’s patience had both been exhausted, they all started drifting their way home. Jack pulled Ianto close.

“Isn’t it a bit strange that you kept getting Owen like that?”

Ianto grinned back at him. “As you say Jack, it’s all in the wrist.”

Owen grinned as the request came through his ear piece. It was unexpected, but certainly not unwelcomed.

He happily pulled himself away from his microscope and snapped off his soiled gloves. His grin became a definite smirk as he plucked a pair of clean gloves from the box and stuffed them into the pocket of his white coat.

Standing he made sure his stethoscope was safely in the other pocket and with the air of someone with nothing to hide he made his way out of the main Hub.

Opening the door he had been directed to he tried to school his face into a serious expression, but there was no hiding the twinkle in his eyes.

“Tell Doctor Harper where is hurts...”
