NaNo update

*sigh*

This was the weekend I had to catch myself up and get ahead with my mad week and weekend away I have coming up. Sadly I spent most of thw weekend in bed asleep so I am not exactly ahead...I am in fact 4.5k behind where I should be at the very least at this point. But I'm still have 5.5k more words on my story than I did this time last week, so it's all good.

My minion is leaving. I am distraught. Not just because he’s a thoroughly nice guy and a lovely addition to the team, but because he is brilliant and helpful and has stopped me going mad on more than one occasion. He’s quick and efficient, smart and writes well and will dogsbody if something needs doing and I have reached hair-tearing out point. He was only on a six-month internship contract here and has landed himself a brilliant, permanent job. I’m very happy for him but have still spent a lot of the morning – affectionately – swearing at him and calling him a deserter.
 
Oh and then he said the sweetest thing. “The problem is, this is the nicest team in the world to work with. I know I’ll never get this lucky again. Colleague-wise I’ve peaked right at the start of my career.”
 
Can someone hand me the tissues and vodka please?
