Theirs had never been an easy friendship. There had been nights out, beers, whiskeys, jokes; but also fights, ridicule…shootings.

They’d seen eye to eye on little; bickered and whinged. They’d fought for each other, helped save each other, lost loves together.

So when it came to saying goodbye there were no easy words. Of course, the first time there hadn’t been a chance for goodbye; nothing had been said.

This time though they were given the opportunity; but could they find the words?

Owen ran his hand along the railing towards Ianto’s and their eyes met.

They didn’t need words.
