AN: Just a little snippet, but gives you a bit more of Callie.

Light spilt through a gap in the curtains, bringing with it the start of a new day. As the room started to brighten Callie was roused from a dreamless sleep. She woke quietly, a practiced skill she had acquired over the years. Laying still the events of last night crept into her consciousness while she got her bearings.

Bar, girl, home, fuck. It wasn’t hard to remember; a familiar routine now. Callie had let herself be picked up last night. The tall butch woman with beautiful eyes, who now lay next to her, had spotted her as she’d entered the bar. Callie had allowed herself to be seen staring openly at the other woman, then played shy when approached.

It had only taken a couple of minutes of nervous smiling to get her first drink and the rest had been simple.

But now things were far from simple. The strong arms that Callie had so enjoyed the night before were now causing her trouble. One was slung heavily around her waist and getting out from under it without waking Maggie – or was it Mary? Never mind – was going to be tricky.

Callie risked a glance at her watch. Nearly 7am. She was pretty sure she was close to work here so she had some time. As she clearly wasn’t going to be able to get out of the house without waking Mickey – yes that was it, Mickey – she may as well take advantage of the situation.

Callie shifted slightly, as if rousing from sleep. The body behind her moved in response; the arm around her middle tightening briefly, Callie felt a face nuzzle into her neck and a kiss was planted on her shoulder.

“Good morning beautiful.”

“Morning yourself. Hey do you mind if I use your shower?” Callie asked without turning around.

The head pulled back from her neck and the arm loosened around her waist.

“No, go ahead.”

Callie didn’t look behind her as she grabbed her ever present bag with its change of clothes and headed through the arch into the adjoining shower room.

She ran the water hot before stepping into the stream. Facing away from the shower she tipped her head back and let the water pour down her body. She took a deep breath, filling her lungs with steam.

Suddenly a pair of hands were on her hips and Callie gasped as she was pushed backwards against the cold tiles. Her eyes sprang open in surprise, but were hit by the stinging spray which forced them shut again. A hot mouth was on hers, taking advantage of the gasp to slide a tongue between lips. The kiss was wet and messy and Callie fell into it. Then the Mickey’s hand was between her legs. Caught between the shower wall and the woman’s firm body Callie helplessly rocked her hips forward, moaning around the kiss as two fingers slid easily inside her body, still slick from the night before.

All thoughts of work, escaping and cold tiles fled Callie’s mind as her world was reduced and focused onto clever fingers undoing her and strong arms holding her up.

Hair still wet and body still glowing, Callie finished dressing and headed for the front door.

“Hey, you off?” the woman stepped out of the kitchen in just a towel with two coffee cups in her hand.

“Yeah, I’ve got to get to work.”

“But I’m making coffee. And I haven’t got your number yet.” Mickey smiled.

“Sorry Mickey, you’re not going to get my number. It’s been great and maybe I’ll see you around, but I really have to get to work.”

“Wait. You don’t want to see me again?”

Callie signed and shook her head, more to herself than in answer to the question. It was so much easier when she could escape without waking them. She pulled open the front door and stepped through. Mickey called out from behind her.

“Then what was last night about?”

Something in the other woman’s tone made Callie pause and turn back.

“What it’s always about. Not going home.”

Callie pulled the door shut behind her and stepped into the sunshine.
