yeah, I had a similar thought at the beginning of 'Deep Impact' where one character loads information onto a floppy disk: again people wouldn't know what that is now - EEP
Recently, someone gave me a load of old audio cassettes from a guide unit which had closed down, with campfire songs and the like on them. I dug out a machine to play them on, and while the guides were otherwise engaged, had a listen to a couple. At the end of the evening, one of the guides came over to ask if I needed any help tidying up. I took the cassette out of the machine and handed it to her, along with the box from the table, and said, "Put those back together please." I unplugged the machine and wound up the wire and stuff, and when I turned back she handed both back to me completely separate, and said, "I can't figure out how it goes it, it won't close." It turned out that, while she knew what it was, she'd never actually had her hands on an audio cassette. THAT made me feel old :(
I still have loads of cassettes & I have fond memories of taping my favourite stuff off the radio (I guess that was like the downloading of the day *g*)
