His foot is to the floor but the little truck is going nowhere fast.

He runs through his options out loud, hoping it will make a decision easier.

It does.

He slams his foot on the brake and the impact is immense.

Connor feels his body slam backwards and forwards. Pain blossoms in his head and spreads through his body.

He half climbs, half falls from the truck as fireworks explode in his head. Lights dance in front of his eyes and he’s falling.

He turns and looks up; one image making it through the haze of colours.

Oh.
