jooles34This is without doubt the most fangirlie I have ever been. Ever. I am actually embarrassed for myself. (although I would like to point out that throughout the encounter described below I actually somehow managed to conduct myself with a degree of total normality and talked like a human, using proper words and everything.)
Last night I went see the Armstrong and Miller live show. It was funny; damn funny. I laughed like an idiot all the way through. That in itself would be enough to keep me happy. (Seriously, if you’re anywhere near any of the dates still playing, go. And if that happens to be Wimbledon let me know and I’ll come too ;o) )
What has tipped me into the realms of extreme fangirlie-ness though is that fact that I was a little in love with Ben Miller before the show (as Denialists will be only too aware) …but am now completely in love with him. As in want to marry him, have him father my children etc. Yes. Exactly. Oh dear.
And here’s why.
· He is as fine in real life as on TV
· When they were out of character they were wearing suits. With purple ties. And he does look good in a suit. And I love purple.
· Ben Miller not only plays guitar, but at the end started playing electric guitar. Proper rock style. Leg up on speaker. While still wearing his suit. Rock sex god Ben Miller? Yes please. (cue Jooles explosion)
If that wasn’t bad enough, after the show my friend and I popped round to the stage door. In true geek style I had taken the cover of Primeval season 2 for Ben to sign. (why season 2? Lester; machine gun; dude.)
Both of them were so friendly and charming with the (admittedly few) people that had come around to see them. They were gracious and seemed genuinely pleased to have people waiting for them. They chatted to everyone and were happy to have photos taken with people that wanted them.
This is where it gets seriously cool. I asked Ben if he would sign my DVD cover and write on it “Lester is a badass mother fucker“. He laughed; a fair bit actually, then did it. There was a pause, a smirk, then he added “fact” to it. It has made me happy beyond measure.

shamazipan had jokingly sent me a half naked screen cap of him and said that if I got it signed for her I would own her soul. I don’t take challenges well; I tend to carry them through.
So, I presented Xander with said screencap, told him the owning her soul story, we had a bit of a laugh about it being taken outside his house (that’s what he said) and he signed it. Her soul is mine.
I then got cheeky and asked if he would sign my ticket for me so I had something too, which he did. And so did Ben which was cool.
Then my friend and I asked for pics. Again they happily said yes and posed with both of us, then another one with the two of us. We were the last people there and they seemed so genuinely happy to take their time with the pics and signings and talking to us; it was very refreshing!
I unashamedly adore this pic. Not only because he had his arm round me (inner fangirl forgot how to breathe), but because we were busy trying not to fall down some steps at the time and Ben’s smile in the shot is so genuine it makes my in-love fangirl flail with joy whenever I look at it.
Which is often.
