Greetings and salutations
A bunch of us Gillespians are undertaking various mini challenges to raise money for cancer research. All the challenges are going to be done in the middle of the Prince of Wales pub in Cardiff. Mine is even going to be videoed so that people sponsoring me, but not going, can see I really did it.
So, to that. I will be performing - probably badly - one of Joyce Grenfell’s nursery sketches (the ones with "George...don't do that" in.) I have done soliloquies in the past, but a very long time ago but not done a one-man thing like this before, and I’m used to having the safety net of other people on stage with me, so I have no idea if I can pull it off and the idea is slightly terrifying. What I’m essentially saying is that the chances of being able to laugh at me are very high, so sponsor me! To sponsor me just go to my original post here or if you’re happy to part with your money before I do it then you can donate directly here (yes, this is all on the assumption that I am fit to go to Cardiff next weekend. I don’t even want to think abut the possibility I may not make it.) Sponsorship can be as little as you like, we’re not after huge sums from everyone, no one has that, but in the fight against cancer every single penny counts.
If you want to see who else is doing what – including a head being shaved!! – here is the fill list of pledgers so far.
Cancer has hit our little group too much already in the last year and still is, and many of us also have our own personal reasons for wanting to put the whump on cancer, so we really appreciate any and all support, even if it is words of encouragement or just keeping the self check awareness going.
Thanks for listening and let’s go kick cancer’s arse shall we?
