Waistcoat Wednesday

Morning all!
Wonderful that the waistcoat love is spreading! Thanks again for joining in and I am still feeding cookies to
thrace_adams for the wealth of waistcoated Tommy pics last week.
I’ve been up and out already to the doc’s so am perked up with waistcoatage! Back in nice comfy man waistcoat over jeans and T.
And huge kudos to
creadigol_lili who was at work, dressed appropriately for Waistcoat Wednesday, while the rest of us were still languishing in Tuesday. That’s dedication for you people.
So, today’s Waistcoat Wonders. In honour of (hopefully) seeing one of the sexiest groups of ladies I know this weekend, I thought we should spare some time to honour some waistcoated ladies. Here is a collection of lady waistcoat icons and some of my favouritist girls that I managed to find waistcoaty pics off *vbg* (Apologies for the very mixed image qualities.)
First off; one of the most iconic female Waistcoat Wonders; Diane Keaton, here in Annie Hall.

Yves Saint Laurent is credited with making the tuxedo fashionable for women in the 1980s and that included waistcoats. And for this we are forever grateful.

This is Katherine Moennig as the delicious Shane in the L-Word.

Salma Hayek. Leather waistcoat. ‘nough said.

The gorgeous and – to my mind – underrated Selma Blair. Would have preferred a pic of her brunette in a waistcoat, but this was all I could find. (cookies on offer etc…)

Neve Campbell. Guh. No words. Just…humena…(frankly, she could wear a potato sack and my reaction would be the same. Just sayin’)

This is a fabulous picture I found on the V&A website. While I think of this as more of a button up tank top and therefore not really appropriate for Waistcoat Wednesday, I just kinda love it.

For more pics of pretty ladies in waistcoats I found this blog while researching. Though sadly no updated anymore, it goes back to 2008 so there is still plenty of pretty.
Enjoy your Waistcoat Wednesday and please share your lady Waistcoated Wonders with me and the rest of the merry waistcoat band if you have some. Also, feel free to share your own wasitcoated tales! Include pics if you like, the more the merrier! (It’s really hard to say that without making it sound like a heavy breathing “what are you wearing” phonecall. Yet, still I say it…)

Date: 2011-03-16 12:13 pm (UTC)And UNF Ladies in waistcoats... one of my favourite things. :D
I'm still on the look out for a new waistcoat, I love them but my body likes to be difficult by having a bigger stomach than boobs.
Maybe I should make my own on, course I'm not having any luck finding a new one.

Is a waistcoat a sleeveless cardigan? Discuss.
:D
Wow. Love that leather job. *thud*
