It had started with Butters. He had tried to oust Lester within a week of him taking in his first management position in the civil service. The man’s career had ended soon after. Then there was Rankin; weasely little man. Leek had reminded him of Rankin, and the least said about that particular escapade the better.

And he’d thought that Cutter and Quinn had been bad, but this one, Matt bloody Anderson? Well, he was really going to give him a headache.
